A New Type Of Roller Blind Which Is Completely Child Safe
Sadly the issue of child safety around blinds has gained a lot of publicity in recent years as their looped cords can cause strangulation if left hanging feely. This has put pressure on the manufacturers to come up with new, innovative solutions which we can trust to keep our children safe.
They of course include child safety clips, cord connectors which break under pressure and all manner of hooks to tie those cords back out of the way. These are a great way to ensure child safety as they are very cheap and can be fitted easily making them ideal for retro fitting onto existing blinds.
Other innovations however have looked at the problem in a different light. The new Senses Slow Rise Roller blind system offers a spring assisted blind which doesn’t use cords at all. At the top of the blind is a lovely decorative pelmet which can be covered in the same colour fabric as the blind for coordination or in a contrasting shade if you prefer to make a statement.
This system operates by simply pulling the base of the blind down to where it is needed, let go and it stays in place. Tug the blind again and it slowly rises back into the cassette safely and controlled.
The pelmet at the top of the blind is a fantastic way to finish a window off beautifully offering a clean and uncluttered look. You no longer see the barrel of the blind at all which makes it a must have for simplistic decors.
Furthermore the system offers an increased amount of light control. The cassette which fixes the blind can be very neatly top fixed into the recess allowing no light to bleed over the top where a traditional roller blind might fall down. You can still choose from your favourite blackout fabrics making the combination a no brainer for children’s rooms, nurseries or indeed your own bedroom.
