Many blind fabric manufacturers take inspiration from the fashion industry visiting catwalk shows and top designer boutiques to hunt out the next look which will work for windows. Adapting it is not always the most straightforward of tasks as fabric which looks great on a model often appears very different at the window.
However our windows are one of the first things people notice when they look at a house. In a modern world where keeping up with the Joneses is paramount coming up with unique ideas on how to dress your windows is now more important than ever.
If you want to impress why not use designer finishes such as adding wooden trims to fabric blinds or adding decorative tassels to otherwise boring bottom shapes.
You can also use digitally printed designs to create a unique and striking finish which can turn heads from across the street. You can even take your own design or favourite picture and have it printed and made into a blind to create something personalised.
Other roller blind
design ideas which work well are using geometric shapes repeated to create a patterned effect or by using fabrics which others wouldn’t necessarily think of. For example you can take upholstery fabric which has unique and very different patterns to traditional window blind fabric and then laminate it before making it into a roller blind.
Whatever you decide to do, think about how you can make it that little bit special by personalising the blind in some way and you will be sure to have a conversation starter on your hands.
